Who Can Benefit From This CD

Cathy, Richard and I feel that A Place For You Here has the potential to be beneficial and healing for people with a wide variety of experiences or circumstances surrounding their conception-through-birth.

Cathy prepared the following list, detailing a range of circumstances that, if you experienced them, may make a re-creation of your birth journey relevant and supportive.

If any of these circumstances were present during your conception, gestation, or birth, you may find A Place For You Here has gifts to offer:

Conceived during time of war or conflict
Adopted
Your parents considered adoption
An unwanted child
A product of violence
Born after a difficult pregnancy
Had a difficult birth
Were gestating when there was family illness
Your mother/parents had fear that the pregancy would be miscarried
Your mother considered, or attempted abortion
Your mother was pregnant with you following a miscarriage or death of child
There was illness or death of a parent or family member while your mother was pregnant with you
Your parents felt you were the “wrong” gender
Your parents "had to" get married because you were conceived
Your mother was an unmarried teen-ager
Your mother died giving birth to you
You were one of multiples conceived, and were the only one to survive to birth
Persistent feelings of suffocation in your life, due to the cord being around your neck at birth
Difficulty in attaching to parents due to being isolated in nursery after birth, perhaps premature birth

Generally, if anything being experienced by your mother, father, extended family or community created a less-than-harmonious environment for your conception and gestation, if your birth was difficult in any way, or you felt anything other than lovingly welcomed into this world, A Place For You Here was created with you in mind.

We also feel that this CD may be a useful tool for therapists, healers, counselors, social workers etc., as taking the journey with the support of a trusted professional may be the most supportive experience for some people.
